EVEN a snowman has a makeover in time for Christmas.
Bolton stages its Christmas parade for the first time for three years this evening -- and some of the stars of the show have been given a spruce-up before they meet the public.
Perhaps one too many mince pies had seen Frosty the Snowman and his friends letting themselves go a bit and looking a bit shabby.
Neville Mills, from Bernard Stott decorators, of Astley Bridge, is pictured giving the larger-than-life characters early Christmas presents by treating them to new coats -- of paint.
The five giant snowmen will form part of the festive parade and spectacular Christmas lights switch-on in Bolton town centre tonight.
The parade sets off at 6.15pm from the Pack Horse Hotel, Bradshawgate, and arrives in Victoria Square for the big lights switch-on by Bolton TV celebrity Vernon Kay at 7pm.
There will be plenty of music and entertainment in the square to get everyone into the Christmas spirit.
