More than 300 goals were scored in a night of non-stop soccer at St Dominic's Youth Centre, Bolton, in 1979.
Seventeen players, including 15-years-old girls Marie Pennington, of Victoria Road, and Marian Riggs, of Russell Street, kept a series of five-a-side games going from 10pm until 10am the following morning to raise more than £100 to convert the centre's new van into a mini-bus.
In this picture, part-time youth leader Mr Paul Jordan, left, was serving tea to some of the young players. On the right was voluntary helper Mr Chris Gleeson.
