THE Doe Hey Reservoir Sunday opener attracted 20 anglers and for once it was the bloodworm attack that won the day.
Kenny Stewart was kept busy catching mainly bits plus the odd bonus perch to notch up a win with 6lbs-2ozs.
Bob Fearnhead was pegged opposite Kenny and used his familiar pinkie and pole approach. However, despite having better fish in numbers than the eventual winner, Bob had to settle for second place with 6lbs-2ozs.
Third was Terry Crosby who finished with 4lbs-3ozs. Section Winners: Tony Seamark 3-15-0, Marvin Hyde 3-8-0, Les Collier 2-4-0.
In the Wednesday Open on the same water it was 'Marvellous' Marvin Hyde's turn to win after a few bleak weeks without a framer. The Apollo motors man took centre stage once more with three big skimmers for 4lbs-8ozs.
Alan McAtee (BAS) fished bloodworm and finished second with 3lbs-0ozs. Third was Bob Fearnhead (Worsley Angling Centre) with 1lbs-8ozs.
