November 22: THE marathon Smash Hits Poll Winners Tour has come to an end, and I finally managed to get myself a few days off to recuperate earlier this week, and it was well-earned, I can tell you!
It was a pleasure to appear across the country with the likes of the Sugababes, Danni Minogue, So Solid's Romeo, Darius and Busted, and I'd like to say thanks to all involved and all who came, but I'm glad to be home and get my feet up.
But now I'm back in the thick of it with my marching boots on. Last night I attended the launch of a new fitness consultancy based in Altrincham, Cheshire.
Fellow Key 103 DJ Mike Toolan's lovely wife Emma is part of the team there, working as a fitness instructor. Coronation Street's Tracey Shaw was on hand to help with the opening of the club, run by Mike Nolan, a friend of mine and a great guy.
It was the perfect opportunity for me and the other Key 103 DJs to look at getting fit and trim for the festive period, as we all know how those Christmas dinners pile on the pounds!
I wouldn't describe any of the team as fitness fanatics, but it's important that we don't get lazy or forget to eat regularly, working these long hours on and off the air.
Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be too much that's new and exciting in the music world this week, and it looks like it'll be quiet until those Popstars judges make their minds up, and the race for Christmas number one hots up.
Next week I'll be back in the Key 103 HQ taking up my usual spot. There's no place like home.
