ACTRESS Hermione Norris might be tough-talking DI Carol Jordan in her latest TV role but in real life her heart melted when she found love while filming Wire In The Blood.
The 34-year-old Cold Feet star fell for script developer Simon Wheeler, aged 27, while she was making the tense psychological thriller for Coastal Productions and now the couple are planning to tie the knot with a Christmas wedding.
Norris says: "Simon used to come and see me to talk about scripts on serial killers when I was making Wire In The Blood - that's pretty romantic.
"I liked him as soon as I saw him. He is gorgeous and I knew he was right for me. On our days off we'd go for walks in Northumberland and got to know each other better."
At the moment she is busy finalising details for the big day but Norris is quick to point out that it is not going to turn into a showbusiness wedding.
"It's not going to be a big wedding. Just friends and family.
"I am getting nervous about the big day and Simon has been teasing me which has made me even worse. I have a Deborah Milner dress and just have visions of me tripping over as I'm walking down the aisle.
"I'm pretty shy so I wonder how I will cope with all the attention. I just hope I don't end up crying."
She has invited her Cold Feet co-stars Helen Baxendale, John Thomson, Jimmy Nesbitt, Robert Bathurst and Fay Ripley to share in her big day. "It will be a great chance to meet up again as Cold Feet has now finished filming."
The hard-working actress is also looking forward to a well-earned break with her new husband.
"I don't know where we are going on honeymoon. But I just don't care where we go as long as I'm somewhere with Simon and without a mobile phone I will be happy."
Wire In The Blood is on ITV1 on Thursdays.
