AN Atherton estate has been transformed in the last two years thanks to a £60,000 fighting fund.
The cash, from the Government's Single Regeneration Budget, has led to transformations for the Hag Fold estate.
A number of projects have benefited, including the setting-up of a new healthy living group for parents and the provision of new toilets for toddlers at the Dorset Road Community Centre Nursery.
Scouts were given the opportunity to go to an international camp in Switzerland,
And there is still cash up available for local groups to do more worthwhile work on the estate.
SRB5 neighbourhood co-ordinator, Elaine Wystawnoha, said: "The small grant acts as a kick-start, making it a lot easier for groups to function in an increasingly difficult climate.
"They have enabled the development of many groups in Hag Fold, benefiting wide sections of the community."
Groups and individuals can apply for cash to organise activities that involve residents in decision-making for their area or which provide services to members of the community who are socially excluded.
