POLICE have appealed for help in tracking down ram raiders who stole hand tools worth more than £12,000 from an Adlington firm.
They escaped with the haul after reversing a white Renault Master van -- stolen earlier from Bolton -- through metal security shutters at the premises of Ingersoll Rand in Huyton Road on Tuesday, November 5.
The van was found burnt out in Tyldesley five days later.
PC Richard Booth, of Wheelton police, said: "The van may have had some damage to its rear because it reversed into the metal shutters. Anybody who has seen it should contact us."
The thieves were caught on the company's own CCTV cameras.
Manager Kevin Peck said: "They were in our building for about a minute and a half."
The company says it will pay a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the thieves. It is the second time the company has been targeted this year.
Anyone with information about the raid, which took place at 7.50pm, should contact Wheelton police on 01257 246104 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
