COME on down to the launch of Connexions, Bolton, on December 7 at the new Connexions Centre, Bradshawgate from 11am until 3pm. Connexions is a new advice and guidance service in England for all 13 to 19-year-olds, providing advice, direction, support and personal development services.
Through Partnerships it brings together all the services to help young people
realise their potential. The new drop-in centre will be open where youngsters can see a personal advisor, use a computer, find out information or look at job vacancies.
There will also be opportunites to have a go at ice skating, enter a competition to win a computer, have an interview make over and get advice.
Highlights of events taking place after the Mayor opens the doors at the Connexions Centre, Bradshawgate, at 11am include:
An interview make-over from students from Bolton Community College
Become a media mogul and produce your own front page - featuring youself
Enter a competition to win an X box games console

12.45am: Lofty the Lion will make a brief appearance with DJ Charlie before his afternoon performance in pantomime.
Noon to 3pm: Open House at Chatsworth House -- a chance to talk to an advisor or pick up some information
Noon to 2pm: Free ice skating for everyone on the Ice Cube in Victoria Square.
Noon to 2pm : Join DJ Charlie on Victoria Square for a karaoke contest -- the winner will win the opportunity to record an original CD track which will be distributed to local radio stations and record labels.
2pm to 3pm: Open Mike with guest MCs Wizard and Veilo.
