MORE than 80 local runners travelled with the Bolton Lads & Girls Club to compete in the Great North Run last month - and raised £16,000 for the club.
The first of the runners home was David Parkinson, who finished 964th out of the 47,000 who took part. He was closely followed by Brandon Pilling of Acdoco, Astley Bridge, who completed the half marathon in one hour 40mins.
