A WOMAN was being questioned by detectives today after a man was stabbed in a Bolton pub -- severing a main artery in his leg.
Police and paramedics were called to the Beaumont Arms in Armadale Road, Ladybridge, at 11.45pm last night.
The 41-year-old man, who has not been named, suffered a cut to his left thigh, which ambulance staff say pierced a major artery.
He was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital where he remained today. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A woman was arrested at the scene. Both the man and woman, aged in her 40s, are thought to be local. It is thought they were customers.
Police say they are treating the incident as a domestic situation and are not appealing for witnesses. Staff at the pub refused to talk about the incident today.
An ambulance spokesman said: "The man received a stab wound to his left thigh which went through an artery. He lost a lot of blood."
