FAMILY and friends of a soccer mad teenager who died suddenly six months ago have been celebrating his life at an eighteenth birthday party held in his honour.

More than 150 guests were at the White Horse pub in Westhoughton to remember Kyle Rayner.

The tragic teenager would have been 18 this week.

Kyle, an amateur soccer player died suddenly at his home in Selbourne Close, Westhoughton, in April.

And family and friends were determined to organise an eighteenth birthday party to remember for Kyle -- a youngster described by his father George as a "clown prince".

Afterwards, Mr Rayner said: "It was an emotional night all round.

"There was a lot of tears and laughter as we remembered Kyle.

"The whole family has been blown away by Kyle's friends, who raised more than £1,000 in a raffle they organised on the night.

"We cannot thank them enough for their efforts."

The young talented amateur football player had tragically been due to have trials with Oldham Athletic and Bury football clubs the month after he died.
