Dr. Seuss's Fabulous Fables, Collins, £14.99 - THEODOR Seuss Geisel -- better known to millions of his fans as Dr. Seuss -- was the author of the hugely successful The Cat in the Hat.
Here, however, we have three books in one -- The Lorax, I Had Trouble in Getting to Solla Sollew and Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are? The Lorax, tells the tale of the long-suffering Lorax and his vain attempts to save all the Truffula Trees from the wicked Once-ler's axe.
The next book sees our hero reach the city of Solla Sollew -- a place where they NEVER have troubles, or at least very few, and we soon realise that its better to face up to life's problems than shy away.
The last book is a hilarious tale of mishap and misadventure and Dr Seuss reminds us that there is always someone, somewhere worse off than ourselves. Surely a perfect way for youngsters to learn this valuable lesson.
