TWO of the region's police forces have been named as part of a new scheme to boost the role of part-time bobbies.
Eight forces have been selected for their work with Special Constables and will receive a Government cash boost.
Greater Manchester Police was selected to look into welfare arrangements for "Specials", while Merseyside will assess best practice in recruitment.
