Rivington 0- Bury GSOB 1: LANCASHIRE Amateur League pace setters Radcliffe Amateurs found the going tough away to Chaddertonians and had to settle for a 2-2 draw.
They took the lead midway through the first half with a goal from Wayne Dalton. Chadds scored twice in the second half and it took a late equaliser from Mark Isherwood to save Radcliffe from what would have been their second defeat of the season.
Amateurs still hold on to their grip at the top of the Premiership but their advantage has been cut to five points.
The second team drew 1-1 with Chaddertonians Seconds, Matt Dunn scoring the vital goal, while the thirds beat Broughton Amateurs 4-1 with Rob Johnson, two, Gary Ashton and Lee Haworth all on target.
Rivington were unfortunate not to have gained at least a point from their clash with Bury GSOB, despite dominating from start to finish.
Following on from their hard earned point against Radcliffe, Rivs started in a similar fashion by bossing the early proceedings.
The only goal of the game came midway through the first half, when a defensive mix up involving Rob Higgins and keeper Dave
Chritchley presented a gift for Bury to take the lead.
This goal, earlier in the season, would have caused a collapse in the Rivington team. Instead they rallied to produce some of their best football of the season.
Inside a ten-minute session Rivington hit the bar, post and had two shots cleared off the line. The second half followed a similar pattern with the exception of a wonder save from Dave Chritchley after a rare Bury attack.
Rivington created many openings and had two strong penalty appeals turned away before Adam Skelly missed from three yards out in the final minute.
In Division One, Bolton Lads Club narrowed the gap on leaders Walkden by beating them 1-0 at home.
The result leaves them just two points adrift of top spot and lying in third place.
Horwich RMI scored an impressive 4-3 win at Oldham Unions after a very poor first half performance, in which Rob Sharratt's opener was wiped out by three goals in quick succession.
After a half-time pep talk, RMI grabbed three of their own to run out worthy winners.
The first was an own goal in a goalmouth scramble, the second came from a good free kick by Craig Morris and the winner was header from a corner by Peter Litherland.
The reserves lost 2-0 at home to Bolton Wyresdale.
