ASTLEY Miners remain top of the Pioneer Sunday League Premier Division thanks to a 2-1 away victory against Willows.
Ellesmere kept the pressure on at the top after a 2-1 victory against Hulton Lane, with goals from Whitley and Fitzpatrick, while Spread Eagle also stayed in touch with a 3-0 victory over King William.
Howcroft came out on top in an 11-goal thriller winning 6-5 against Commercial, goals from Kirkman (2), Greensill, Leneghan, Garsden and the winner from Ashworth in the 89th minute.
In Division One, Lion FC look to be title favourites after a 4-1 away victory against Faux Forest, goals coming from Walsh, Butler and Phil Sheehan. Railway were too strong for Horwich S.M. Old Boys, running out winners 8-2 with hat-tricks from J Duncan and A Bingham.
Masons Arms still keep the pressure ion at the top after a 3-0 victory against Great Lever. White Horse and Rigby Taylor had to settle for a point each in a 3-3 draw, White Horse coming back from 3-1 down.
