GREEN Goddess Army firefighters tackled four fires in Bolton last night -- and striking firefighters gave first aid to a man with a cut hand.
The soldiers' first callout was to a house fire in Shackleton Grove, Johnson Fold. They put out the flames with the help of a Navy breathing kit team.
No-one is thought to have been hurt in the blaze, which began just after 7pm.
One hour later the soldiers, who are based at the Nelson Street TA barracks, dealt with a burning car behind a paper mill in Mytham Road, Little Lever, and at 12.30am, they doused another car in Lever Street, Great Lever.
Two Goddess crews put out a fourth fire behind a resin factory in Union Road shortly before 1am.
Firefighters at the Bolton North Station also assisted a man who arrived at their picket line with a badly cut hand.
They gave him first aid and called an ambulance, which took him to the Royal Bolton Hospital.
One firefighter said: "He was bleeding quite badly. We did everything we could to help him."
