ERNIE Hamilton's letter, (Friday, November 15) commenting on Tony Blair's appearance at the Remembrance Ceremony in London, while he was preparing for a possible war against Iraq, would have been more to the point if he had added that his two predecessors -- John Major, during the time of the Suez war, and Margaret Thatcher during the time of the Falklands war -- did exactly the same thing.
I try to think the best of people, so I can only assume that Mr Hamilton forgot these two important facts.
The alternative possibility, that he had left them out because they were Conservative and Tony Blair is Labour, would have been disgusting.
