CAN anyone tell me why Bolton MBC spent money on building a useless roundabout on Church Street in Little Lever?

I was there for at least five minutes one recent morning, trying to get out of Redcar Road on to Church Street. It's no quicker or easier than the "Stop" that was there before and therefore serves no purpose -- or does it?

Did the council have nothing better to waste their money on? Why couldn't they have given this money to First North Western Trains as a donation (every little helps, I suppose) to help our trains to Manchester from Moses Gate run on time (that's if they turn up). Or why couldn't they spend the money on cleaning up Bolton's litter-strewn streets? There's loads of other things that the residents of Bolton need more than another useless roundabout.
