A FEW weeks ago I parked my van on Churchbank in Bolton and went in town to do some shopping.
I paid 60p for one hour's parking.
After realising that I may be a bit longer, I went back to my van and put another ticket on display for 30p (30 minutes). After finishing shopping, I found a parking fine on my van. I had paid for 90 minutes' parking and I had parked for a total of 91 minutes.
While I realise that over is over, do you not think that this is a bit over-zealous? I tried to appeal, but the council said no. I understand the council being tough on people who try to park without paying, but I am hardly one of them. From now on all my shopping will be done at the Trafford Centre and, judging by the amount of empty shops in Bolton, a lot of other people feel the same.
