PUPILS will be lighting up Farnworth town centre tomorrow when they help celebrate the switch-on of the town's Christmas tree lights.
They are putting together a colourful parade leading people to the festive celebrations by the tree in Brackley Street.
Pupils at Little Lever and St James' CE secondary schools have been creating illuminated lanterns for the event.
Harper Green Secondary School will be sending their choir to entertain the crowd. music will also be provided by Little Lever Brass Band, made up of local pupils from the Little Lever Music Centre.
Celebrations start at 4pm at the Asda end of Brackley Street with carols, followed by the parade from Asda to the square outside Aldi, where there will be more music and carols.
The lights on the Christmas tree will be switched on by the Mayor and Mayoress of Bolton, Cllr John Walsh and his wife Christine.
Thomas Morton, chairman of Farnworth Town Centre Group, said: "A lot of work has been put into this event and I would like to thank everyone involved."
