A £10m resurfacing scheme on the M62/M66 moves into its second phase on Saturday when work starts on the M66.
The work between Junctions 2 (Bury) and 4 (Simister) of the M66 will involve resurfacing and repairs to the drainage system and safety fencing, but is to be carried out overnight to minimise disruption to motorists.
The existing traffic management on the M62, which has been reduced to three narrow lanes in each direction, will remain in place.
Highways Agency Project Manager Graeme Freeman said: "The work on the M66 is to be carried out overnight to reduce delays to motorists, but lanes will be closed and drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys. Work will continue on the M62 at the same time."
