November 29: I'M back at Key 103 HQ, fresh from London and the Smash Hits Poll Winners Party last weekend. And what a day it was.

Westlife and Gareth Gates both managed to walk off with an impressive four awards each, with Gareth scooping Best Male Solo Artist and Westlife taking Best Band on Planet Pop and entering the Smash Hits Hall of Fame!

The highlights for me were definitely the live performances of the day, from Ronan Keating -- he's a great bloke -- and The Calling's excellent "Wherever You Will Go".

Bryan McFadden won "Party Mentalist of the Year" and managed not to turn up for the after show party!

Yesterday I attended our much talked about Key 103 Charity Ball in aid of Manchester Kids, at the Midland Hotel. It was a fantastic night and along with everyone here at Key 103, I would like to thank all those who turned out for the event.

Tomorrow I'll be in Sheffield for an audience with the Sugababes, a private live affair that will be broadcast later in the year for your enjoyment.

Tomorrow you can hear the Smash Hits chart, maybe with a new number one... But Will Young is such a strong contender, I doubt he'll be budged, even by fellow Pop Idol Darius Danesh and his new release "Rushes".

It certainly is Popstars fever at the moment, as Gareth Gates is also set to release his excellent "What my Heart Wants to Say".

Join me next week as the Christmas contenders begin to creep into the charts!
