A STUDY being carried out in the North-west aims to show whether weight loss could reduce the risk of breast cancer.
The project is being run at Withington Hospital and 80 women from Greater Manchester are taking part.
They have been put on a weight loss plan to see if losing weight reduces the levels of cancer-causing growth hormones.
Project leader Michelle Harvey says it could help reduce the risk of breast cancer among thousands of women.
