A RAIL passenger who had slammed First North Western's service as a "disgrace" says there has been a considerable improvement in services this week.
Danny Langley, of Great Moor Street, Bolton, moved to the town because he felt it would be easier to commute to Manchester, where he works.
The 30-year-old told the Bolton Evening News on Monday that his journeys had been a nightmare, with trains delayed or cancelled every day in the last six weeks. But Mr Langley, who pays £58 per month to use First North Western trains, said the service has been much better this week.
"The service has been great for the first time in weeks," he said. "First North Western have been putting three carriages on for the rush hour morning service, which has made a big difference to the quality of the service."
"I caught the 7.40am service earlier in the week, and First North Western put on three carriages on that train. Although I was standing all the way to Manchester, we were not all squashed in like we have been in previous weeks."
"I'm pleased that the service has got better, but I don't know how long it will last."
