TOWN Hall postie Laura Rigby is a real parcel of fun, according to her workmates in the building's Victorian basement.

She makes sure the working day in the council's underground post room goes with a swing.

For she loves belting out pop songs such as Elvis's classic "Return to Sender" while she dispatches letters.

The 34-year-old assistant lead courier said: "I love singing and I just can't stop. The girls I work with love it too."

Laura, from Darcy Lever, proved such a hit with fellow postal workers when she started her job four years ago that they sent her on a tour of Bolton's pub and club circuit.

She has now created a duo called Vogue with her fiance Paul Farrow and their fans think they are the perfect package for success.

Laura was even asked by Town Hall bosses to perform alongside stars such as the Cheeky Girls at Bolton's Christmas lights switch-on.

She came up from the basement to sing the festive hit "Feed the World" on the Town Hall steps after making her last mail collection of the day.

"I'd love to be a full-time performer one day," she said. "But I'm not about to give up my job in the post room just yet.

"We have a great sing-song down here in the basement -- and we like dancing, too."
