BOWLERS in Breightmet are to get a new pavilion.
Breighmet Veterans, who meet in Leverhulme Park, off Blenheim Road, have been pressing for a replacement for their existing, run-down building.
It has been subject to vandalism and arson attacks and is in a poor state ofrepair.
The new pavilion will cost £23,000 and will also have a kitchen. It will be screened by an ornate fence.
It is intended that it will also be used as a community meeting point.
The planning application has been approved by Bolton councillors.
