BOTTOM club West Ham can leapfrog over Wanderers if they beat Southampton's in Monday night's SKY TV match which wil be watched with more than a passing interest by Whites' fans.
And Saints' in-form striker James Beattie, who has enjoyed a superb run of eight goals in his last six matches, including two against the Gunners in Southampton's surprise 3-2 win, says his team will be on their guard.
The former Blackburn striker is puzzled at West Ham's struggles and revealed Southampton will treat them with the same respect they showed Arsenal.
Beattie said: "We know West Ham are desperate to beat us and they will feel they have a good chance after the way they demolished us in the same fixture last season.
"They are scrapping away for every point, which makes it much harder for us. But it is hard to see where they have gone wrong with the talent they have at their disposal.
"We had a great win over Arsenal last week to show how far we have come in the last year, so we will go to West Ham full of confidence.
"Every game is difficult and provides a new challenge but we know that if we don't show the same level of concentration against West Ham we could be in trouble.
"At Southampton we have as good a squad as I have known since I came here. We have the potential to go up to the next level and chase a place in Europe.
"But the last thing we want is to waste our good work against Arsenal by losing to West Ham."
