RADICAL reforms to council housing in Chorley are being put forward.
And residents are being given the chance to air their views at a series of public meetings.
The Government has asked councils to look at the following four alternative ways for running local authority housing:
Stay as it is;
Form a new company owned by the council operating separately;
Transfer some or all properties to a housing association;
Bring in a private contractor.
Councillor Terry Brown, representative member for housing, said: "We need to plan to make sure we do have enough resources to provide good quality, well managed and maintained, as well as affordable homes to rent."
If you cannot attend a meeting, ring 01257 515504, send comments to the council's housing services unit, or email stockoptions@chorley.gov.uk
