A CHORLEY publican has been praised by a South Ribble hospice for his fundraising.
Keith Burgess, of the Euxton Mills, on Wigan Road, has been hailed by staff at St Catherine's Hospice for collecting more than £1,000 over the years.
St Catherine's, on Lostock Lane, Lostock Hall, relies on donations to provide care for people who have incurable diseases.
Keith Burgess recently held a charity night at the pub where he raised more than £250. The annual 'Lancashire Night', saw Keith and his staff dress in period costumes and serve traditional Lancashire food including black pudding and hot pot.
Keith and wife Alma also presented a cheque for £1,000 to a representative of St Catherine's Hospice, assisted by local MP Lindsey Hoyle.
John Nickson, appeals manager for St Catherine's said: "It is only through people like Keith that we are able to provide the care we do.
"Every penny he has raised is greatly appreciated and needed."
Keith said: "The Lancashire Night is the highlight of our events calendar.
"It marked the start of our next fundraising drive for St Catherine's and we're sure it'll start off our campaign with a bang."
