EAGLEY ran riot at the weekend in their West Lancs Premier Division game against Springfields running out 5-0 winners after an excellent all-round performance in what can only be described as atrocious conditions.

The villagers were led superbly by a captain's performance from Carl Banks but it was Rob Howarth who was man of the match scoring three goals in the first 50 minutes.

A Chris Williams' strike and a vintage Tony Burnett effort completed the scoring as Eagley ran out comfortable winners.

Meanwhile the 2nd XI visited the Fylde Coast and an Andy Grimshaw brace ensured a 2-1 victory over Poulton Town.
