I HAVE been wondering if any of the managers, players and staff of the big soccer clubs have any thoughts or remorse for the harm they have done to the smaller clubs who are struggling to survive? I don't think so.

There is an old saying that "the working man is a fool to himself", for it is the greed of the players and clubs that have made it this way. The money they get is way over the top, it doesn't bear thinking about. Pay them a living wage, of course, but the colossal sums they get is ridiculous.

The powers-that-be in the game say they love the game, they love the money. The smaller clubs will go to the wall, and not one of them will come out and say to the FA what's wrong with the game.

I know the cloth cap and muffler image has gone. A game of soccer was a game we loved to play when we were younger. They also say they are tired after a couple of matches a week -- what rubbish. I wouldn't entertain them now with the prices they charge.
