ADD A Voice, a local advocacy service, is looking for new volunteers to train as advocates for their group.
The service, set up in 1994 to provide advocacy services to individuals and groups in Leigh, is now interviewing volunteers for the training course which starts in February.
Cases undertaken by volunteers include attending a hospital appointment with someone and helping them to ask questions, and going through a complaint procedure with someone.
Lucy Whiting, Manager at Add A Voice said "Our volunteers provide a valuable role in the community in enabling people to speak up for themselves. Volunteers are needed for both office based advocacy and also to assist with the delivery of a number of outreach surgeries in the borough."
To volunteer, or for more information call 01942 601563, e-mail lucy@addavoice.fsnet.co.uk or contact at 53 Church Street, Leigh, WN7 1AY.
