THE TOP of the Bolton Table Tennis League Premier Division is beginning to take a familiar shape.

Champions Ramsbottom A are eight points in front of Hilton Tameside, who have played one match less.

The Rammy team scraped a 5-4 win at Horwich Hilton with former European Champion John Hilton winning his three sets for the Horwich side.

At the bottom of the table Wharton A ran out 5-4 winners against Mosses, with Bob Jackson recording a decisive treble which included the final set of the night.

Division One leaders Carlton completed a comprehensive 7-2 win at Heaton B, which included three wins apiece for Top Ten leader Kevin Chapman and Colin Boardman.

Nomads A are in second spot with a match in hand after they scored a decisive 8-1 win against Ladybridge, which included trebles by Craig Johnson and Sean Toland.

The top two teams in Division Two both recorded comprehensive wins. Leaders Little Lever C beat BEN A 8-1 and Ramsbottom scored maximum points against Egerton Park.

Hilton F, the current leaders of Division Three, recorded a 7-2 win over Ramsbottom, giving them a three-point advantage over Meadow Hill A in second place.

Division Four leaders Hilton J scored maximum points at Bolton Evening News B, as did the team in second spot, Hilton I, against Jubilee. Heaton F, in third place, also won 9-0 at Ellesmere B.

Three wins by Top Ten leader Phil Yates and two by Jack Smith gave Meadow Hill a 5-4 win at Heaton G. John Swarsbrick's treble helped YMCA to a 7-2 win over Hilton L.

John Birchall Snr won his three sets for Ladybridge E who beat Hilton K 6-3.
