THE GAME started in heavy rain that continued throughout. The pitch cut up but remained playable, although very wet and heavy.
Stoneclough started quickly and went into the lead after 10 minutes through David Morris, after good work by John Done down the right. That lead was doubled after 20 minutes when again Done, down the right, whipped over a cross that was finished emphatically by Gareth Branthwaite.
Todmorden pulled one back after 30 minutes after they reacted quicker at a corner that was initially cleared by Craig Thompson. The two goal lead was restored by a towering header by Anthony Fisher off a Done corner.
Fifteen minutes into the second half the game was over as a contest when David Morris got his second, calmly rounding the keeper and coolly slotting home.
Todmorden were then given a penalty on one of their only forays into the Stoneclough half when their centre forward was tripped, he picked himself up and tucked it away. Five minutes from time the very impressive Done finished off a great game with a thumping finish, keeping a good run of results going for the Brook Street side.
The reserves were equally impressive in their 0-3 away victory over Mill Hill St Peters of Blackburn.
