IWOULD like to thank the Mayor of Bolton for backing Lancashire Day (November 27).
Here at home we celebrated the day with a meal for 10 people. Black pudding or pea and ham soup for starters, Lancashire hot pot for main course and Lancashire cheese to finish, with plenty of red wine, of course. At 9pm we had the Loyal Toast with more wine, and a good night was had by all.
I have recently become a member of The Friends of Real Lancashire. Their Internet site gives out a lot of information.
There is no doubt Bolton is still in Lancashire and we should all be proud of the fact. Bolton Council -- let's have some signs south of the town saying Bolton, in Lancashire. I believe Horwich has.
I would love to come off the M60 motorway towards St Peter's Way and see the above sign. So, come on, Bolton Council, make my day and a lot of other people's as well.
