SAM Allardyce has set his team the challenge to score at least two goals at the Reebok on Saturday.

The Bolton boss admits he cannot rely on his team to keep a clean sheet and insists goals must come at the other end if Wanderers are to pick up valuable Premiership points.

He is resigned to seeing a goal fly past Jussi Jaaskelainen at some stage of the derby clash with Blackburn Rovers but wants to make sure his side get it right in front of goal.

He admitted: "It is unlikely we are going to keep a clean sheet and I am sick to death of going on about it.

"So we will have to make sure we score at least two.

"We always concede goals and I'm sure we are going to concede tomorrow."

It could be mind games or simply resignation on the manager's part after seeing his side concede in every game except two this season.

It is 12 games since Wanderers last kept a clean sheet in the victory over Manchester United back in September but the omens look little better as far as scoring two or more goals are concerned.

In 16 games this season Wanderers have only twice scored more than one goal, in the 3-2 home defeat by Liverpool and the performance of the season, the 4-2 away victory over Leeds.

Allardyce will wait for the outcome of tests on injury victims Mike Whitlow and Gudni Bergsson before naming his side.

If either make it the manager will have the option of moving Kevin Nolan into the engine room from right wing back while the midfield will be further strengthened by the return to fitness of Per Frandsen.

Allardyce is hoping both his usual centre halves will be back in harness as he sees them as a vital component in the success the club has had in recent times.

With Frandsen back and Bergsson, Whitlow and Gareth Farrelly in with a chance, Allardyce could be left with having to choose who to leave out.
