PUBLISHED to coincide with his untimely death 25 ago, The Elvis Treasures is a special boxed set of book, CD and more than 25 replica artefacts commemorating the Elvis legend

The author has had unprecedented access to the Gracelands archives and the full co-operation of the Elvis's estate.

The book, by Memphis resident and Rolling Stone writer Robert Gordon, covers every stage of the rock 'n' roll king's life and career, from his East Tupelo upbringing to his music, films and family, and pays particular reference to the facsimile material included.

The reproductions comprise some of Elvis's most personal documents, including his high school diploma, his contract with Sun records, a four-page handwritten letter from Germany to his girlfriend Anita Wood, and an invitation-only ticket for his Las Vegas comeback concert.

The CD features interview material from throughout Elvis's 22-year career, which up to now have only been available on bootleg tapes and miscellaneous recordings. Shielded from press scrutiny throughout his career, only a relative handful of candid, unscripted interviews remain.

This 60-minute disc provides an audio picture of the real Elvis in his own words. (Carlton Books £30)
