HOW they rated by Neil Bonnar
Wanderers 1, ROVERS 1
WANDERERS
(4-3-3)
JUSSI JAASKELAINEN...6
Bad handling on crosses but two spectacular saves made up for it.
ANTHONY BARNESS...7
If he gets any more consistent than this he'll inherit the Mr Reliable tag from Gudni Bergsson.
GUDNI BERGSSON...7
Goes about business at his own pace but always gets the job done. Just as Yorke and Cole.
IVAN CAMPO...7
Better and faster than he's given credit for. Becoming a big player at the back.
SIMON CHARLTON...7
A performance of determination and conviction back on his accustomed left side.
RICARDO GARDNER...8
Superb. Seemed to add an extra yard to his normal frightening pace and skilful too.
PER FRANDSEN...9
Never stopped prompting the attack, linking up play, breaking down Rovers attacks and doing extra defending duties.
PAUL WARHURST...7
Wanderers are always so much harder to beat when he is in front of the defence destroying the opposition's build-up play.
JAY JAY OKOCHA...8
Always looking for the killer pass or shot and more than capable of finding it as he showed in the eighth minute.
YOURI DJORKAEFF...8
Class on a stick. Makes Wanderers tick but needs to make more of goalscoring chances.
HENRIK PEDERSEN...7
Looks like an old fashioned number nine. The nod down for Okocha's goal was well executed centre forward play.
Subs: Kevin Poole, Kevin Nolan 7 (for Warhurst, 50 mins), Michael Ricketts 5 (for Gardner, 54 mins), Danny Livesey and Stig Tofting 6 (for Okocha, 75 mins).
BLACKBURN
(4-4-2)

MARTIN TAYLOR...6
JAY MCEVELEY...6
DAVID THOMPSON...8
GARRY FLITCROFT...6

DAMIEN DUFF...7

Bookings: Wanderers - Djorkaeff (72 mins, foul), Frandsen (90 mins, foul).
Rovers - Thompson (40 mins, foul), Tugay (77 mins, foul).
Magic Moment
RICARDO Gardner's double nutmeg of Damien Duff and Matthew Taylor to get out of a jam at the corner flag was even better than some of Djorkaeff's and Okocha's mesmerising cameos of skill.
Man of the match
PER FRANDSEN
HARD to shine when you are playing alongside Okocha and Djorkaeff but his work at both ends of the field in a non-stop performance was impressive and vital.
Moan of the match
SEEING Dwight Yorke running unguarded and Craig Short not properly marked was a crying shame after Wanderers had worked so hard for 95 minutes.
