A LARGE collection of Bolton Wanderers memorabilia dating from the club's beginnings up to the present day is to go under the hammer to help charity.
Brent Brindle, landlord of the Queen's Head in Lee Lane, Horwich, is to sell about 100 Wanderers items, including shirts, pictures and even furniture at an auction on Thursday.
Mr Brindle, aged 48, who is a big Wanderers fan, said: "I have not had the items valued but I would say they are worth whatever it is to the people who want it.
"The items would make good Christmas presents."
Auction items include a glass topped bar table which has the unusual feature of having built-in official programmes.
An old medical case used by the first team trainer is another item that could start a bidding war between Wanderers enthusiasts.
Team pictures, drawings and cartoons of players, old programmes, shirts encased in glass and a large framed picture of Nat Lofthouse scoring in the 1958 FA Cup final against Manchester United are included in the long list of auction items.
The oldest team picture is of the 1913/14 squad and there is even a souvenir shirt from 1923.
The memorabilia passed into Mr Brindle's hands when he took over the lease of the Queen's Head six months ago, as the items came with the pub.
He said: "When I brought the lease, memorabilia was all spread all around the pub. It used to be a football crazy pub about five or six years ago but it's all changed now."
Ten per cent of the auction proceeds will go to cancer research charities.
Viewing fof the lots begins at the pub at 7pm and the auction will start at 9pm.
