I WOULD like to defend my letter to the Bolton Evening News, attacked by Mr Buchanan on November 28.
I voted Labour for some 50 years, lcal and nationally, until Tony Blair made a decision to cut the staff numbers and pay off the people who tend the last resting places of our war dead in Europe.
Not even the unfeeling Mrs Margaret Thatcher would have dared to do that. I have comrades who lie there who gave their very young lives.
I would attack anyone who would dare to make such a move to save money.
