Wanderers face a midfield crisis ahead of Monday night's Premiership clash with Leeds United.
Injuries to Ricardo Gardner and Paul Warhurst in Saturday's draw with Blackburn have added to Sam Allardyce's problems in the middle of the field.
It looked like Wanderers were putting their injury problems behind them with the return of Gudni Bergsson and Per Frandsen on Saturday which produced a much more solid look to the Reebok side.
The return of Warhurst, three matches ago after 10 games out, further boosted the team but their luck has appeared to run out with the latest double injury setback. Gardner was having tests by the physio to determine the extent of his injury.
With Gareth Farrelly and Akin Bulent also sidelined with injury and Stig Tofting playing with a broken foot which requires pain-killing injections before games, Wanderers will find themselves short of midfield cover should Warhurst and Gardner's injuries take time to heal.
Jay Jay Okocha and Frandsen showed they are bang in form against Blackburn and Kevin Nolan also showed signs he is returning to form with an eye-catching 45 minutes in the same game.
