PUPILS at a Little Lever primary school proved that putting their best foot forward can be rewarding.
The youngsters at Mytham Primary School have been presented with a video camera after making the biggest impact in National Walking to School Week which was held in October.
The 364 pupils notched-up a total of 1,347 non-car journeys during the event and only 210 car journeys.
Pupils also enjoyed walks in the neighbouring streets, classes on the benefits of exercise and special assemblies with guest speakers.
Head, Alison Chadderton, said: "The pupils really loved Walk to School week and the response we got in the local community was really positive.
"People near the school said they noticed a big difference and traffic in the area was a lot quieter." The event was such a success that the school hopes to organise something similar in the New Year.
