ONLY three games were played in the Bolton Sunday League after the council called off all games on their pitches because of the conditions.
In the first division, Beaumont and Seven Stars played out a thrilling 3-3 draw with Garry Dugdale grabbing a hat-trick for Stars. A double from Alan Patton and one from Glynn Kay earned Beaumont their share of the points.
The league also saw the preliminary matches in the Open Cup and again goals were in plentiful supply.
Black Horse Tyldesley led the way with six against Hare and Hounds, Mark Dickinson and Mick Molyneux both scoring twice with Rob McCafferty and Ron Radcliffe grabbing one each. Hare and Hounds got on the scoresheet with Tony and Shaun McAfee scoring one each.
New Edition pipped Clifton Rangers in a seven goal thriller. Phil Mason hit two and Alan Char and Gary Johnson one each for New Edition in their 4-3 win. Clifton replied with three goals, Tony Cooper scoring twice with another from Andy Fairclough.
