IVAN Campo wants to make his Bolton move a permanent one - if the club can stay in the Premiership.

The former Spain international is currently on a season-long loan from Real Madrid having joined the Whites in August.

After being shut out by the Spanish giants, Campo has been made to feel at home in England with the help of his team-mates and has been impressed by boss Sam Allardyce.

The 28-year-old also believes that he owes the Wanderers fans for their backing, particularly as he feels they have stuck with him and the team through thick and thin.

Campo said: "If Bolton stay in the Premiership I want to be here again next season.

"The club is very passionate about its football and there are three reasons why I want to stay here .

"My team mates have always made me feel very welcome and have helped me settle in here.

"We have a positive, single-minded manager in Sam Allardyce, and the supporters make their presence felt at home and away.

"I have been impressed with the fans because they always try hard to support the team.

"My wish is to get them some more positive results to get us up the table."

Wanderers had chased Campo for six months before he finally agreed to the move, just in time for the win over Manchester United.

After the on-off nature of his Reebok move, he now wishes he had agreed to join the club a little earlier. He said: "I would have preferred to have got here sooner than I did because I am really enjoying my football with Bolton."
