OUT of form Bolton RUFC got bogged down in the mud as they slumped to a 24-0 defeat at Thornton Cleveleys.
Bolton made a disastrous start and quickly conceded two tries before they got involved. Full back Steve Morrison crashed over only to be held up for the second week in sucession.
Constructive half time words by coach Ged Byrne saw Bolton start much brighter. With a free reign to play some open attacking rugby they started to make yards but could not penetrate a solid defence.
Eccles visit Avenue Street on Saturday when it is paramount they find their scoring touch if they are not to be dragged down into the relegation struggle.
The Second team came from 10-0 down to draw 13-13 with Thornton Cleveleys.
Bolton struggled to contain a heavier pack but a tactical change at half-time worked wonders with tries by Hackin and Santi Castro and a penalty earning them a share of the spoils.
The Thirds travelled to face a strong Liverpool St Helens side and although they were well beaten the side showed plenty of endeavour and courage as the opposition are used to playing a higher grade of rugby.
