TYLDESLEY moved up two places in the league thanks to an emphatic 44-20 victory over Cumbrian side Kirby Lonsdale.
Mark Dickinson landed a penalty before Ian Worsfold scored a try converted by Dickinson. The visitors hit back with a penalty and unconverted try but undaunted Tyldesley replied when Andrew Simpson finished off a neat move and Dickinson added another penalty.
Adam Fetherston capped a fine personal display by crashing over by the posts and prop James O'Connor stormed in from 10 metres. Worsfold added a second try, Gary Corbett scooted over and Dickinson added three more conversions.
Tyldesley Knights made the long trip to Kirkby Lonsdale and recorded a fine 33-7 win. It was a classic tale of two halves as the home side went in at the break 7-0 up, but the second period saw Tyldesley in charge with tries from Tom Cartwright (2), Peter Hayes, Taff Watkins and Sean Campbell and Hayes landed four conversions.
The Dragons came up against Burtonwood Firsts and took a early 3-0 lead following a successful penalty from Jamie Aldred. However Burtonwood responded with a try only for Aldred to give the home side a 6-5 lead at the break with another penalty.
The second half saw just one score when Burtonwood turned the ball over and raced up the park to score under the posts.
Key performers on the day where Andrew Oakden who worked hard and put in one try saving tackle and old timer Paul Toole who was busy throughout.
