LEIGH RMI Ladies suffered their first league defeat of the season at home to Accrington Stanley.
Completely against the run of play, RMI saw themselves behind after 15 minutes from an edge of the box strike which beat a stationary Kim Goulding in the goals. The score was tied, minutes later when Rebecca Dennard was brought down in the area to give Sarah Alldred a penalty which she duly converted. A defensive miskick was not picked up by keeper Goulding and gave Accrington pounced.
The second half saw RMI create numerous chances but failed to find the back of the net. As pressure mounted and RMI pushed forward, Accrington pinched a third goal on a fast break to make it 3-1.
