LIFE Cafe's Groove Syndicate, made up of house DJs Gareth Stirling and Greg Lister, are the Saturday night DJs at Life Bar Cafe.
Gareth, aged 24, and Greg, aged 35, have been together for just over six months. Greg has been DJing professionally for 14 years, while the last few months have been the first professional experience Gareth has had.
In this way the duo could not be more different. But the pairing of the relative newcomer and a veteran has created a sound new to Bolton nightspots, with two DJs manning the decks at once.
The Groove Syndicate felt that Bolton's nightlife was rather limited, with nowhere offering the type of funky vocal house night they were finding in Manchester and they were keen to tempt back all those Bolton clubbers who make the trip to the city each weekend in search of a good night out.
So upon the opening of Life, Gareth and Greg called, finding out the venue was in need of DJs, and the Groove Syndicate was born. Now, having pulled off successful Christmas and New Year's Eve events, the Syndicate have met with such success that they have been asked by Life to plan something special for forthcoming bank holidays, set to be a new night called Cliche. Their efforts so far suggest it will be anything but...
