Wanderers are looking to striker Michael Ricketts to fire the goals at The Valley on Saturday.
Ricketts is recovering well from the injury which forced him out of the Fulham draw and Sunderland defeat.
Wanderers are desperate for the man who broke his barren scoring run with four goals in his last five games to be fit.
He came through training without any reaction on Thursday and will go straight back into the starting line-up if there is no setback.
His great friend Kevin Nolan is also set for a recall in place of Okocha who manager Sam Allardyce admits is a hard act to follow.
He said: "We are hoping Jay Jay will only be out for two weeks and it is a great shame that we will not have him because he has been magnifcent.
"It is a difficult job to replace him and the challenge goes out to whoever comes in for him to do well.
"The return of Bernard Mendy, Paul Warhurst and Bruno N'Gotty, who have shown no reaction to their injuries, after Tuesday night's game at Sunderland, boosts us a bit and they come back into the reckoning.
"Also Michael Ricketts has shown no reaction in training to his hamstring and we go to Charlton with a reasonably healthy squad."
