I THOUGHT Britney had cornered the market in schoolgirl chic, but apparently there are a couple of pretenders to her crown.

Has anyone else heard about t.A.T.u. - the two girls from Russia who are causing a controversy with their video for All the Things She Said?

Currently the biggest selling group in Eastern Europe, their video sees the pair, in school uniforms, getting, ahem, friendly in a rainstorm.

Call me cynical but I smell a marketing ploy and a half here. Still this blatant cynicism isn't likely to stop Yulia Volkova and Lena Katina from invading the UK charts very soon with something a mite more saucy than even the Cheeky Girls have managed.

Elsewhere in the pop world, Kelly Rowland got your vote last weekend and shot to the number one spot in the Smash Hits Buzz charts, so thanks for all your texts.

And keep an eye on Fame Academy's David Sneddon, who I predict will take the spotlight off the Pop Rivals very soon.

And if you are out and about in Bolton this evening don't forget to call into Ikon where I will be joined by my Key 103 buddies JK and Joel. You'd be mad to miss it.
